Did you actually read the thread? The OP had these custom made so I don't think that there will be a part number for them.

He also said to PM him for the extras that he may have for sale.

I had this problem too. I took the races to a machine shop and had prob .030 removed from each side.

Anyone else had this problem?

Yeah. I did. I dremeled it down. Works fine. Took longer to find the dremel than to shave the axle ends.

Bumping this one from the dead, and kind of tired from trying to make the car go together. I have a V2 RA swaped car to include the rear diff and apparently hubs and am trying to swap in a JDM V8 six speed and R180. I tried to do the Legacy Spec B axle trick but that will not mate up with my RA axles, nor does the spline count on the Legacy slide into my R160 hubs. This leads me to believe that WRX outer CV's will not cure my woes. Now I'm starting to wonder if I can combine the axles using the existing races like Suberdave has done. Anyone have any solid scoop on this?

Since I had STi rear hubs and rotors I just had to use those with 300zx calipers and pads and a spacer.

if any of you members would like to see us make a product from a simple conversion bars to a complete set all you have to do is ask. send me a pm and ill look into it. how about a set of axle bars and R180 inners that that the stock WRX outer can mount to for a simple R180 swap ?

Because 300zx RWD rear brake calipers fit, do not mean they are a good application for the AWD subaru. I would definitely look into getting some correct parts on there as soon as you can. The wrong way a few times or the right way once, there is always a lesson to be learned...

Since more than half of the braking is done by my 4 pot fronts on a GC8 there are not words to describe how unconcerned I am. But you have piqued my curiosity, if they fit, and apply braking force what else should I be concerned about? Seems to me that a 2 pot rear caliper is a 2 pot rear caliper. If it's good enough for a much heavier 300ZX, why not my GC8? Speaking of lessons learned, don't swap a GC8 without an entire donor car.

Were going to be looking into doing a set of bars to let you be able to use the Stock WRX (R160 outer) outer CV with either a Factory STI inner or a inner we would supply. i would figure that the cost for the bars would be about 400.00

Would this be something you would be interested in ?

I would be interested if it was bars and inners sold as the set. If we have to source the r180 inners the price just keeps going up.

Would all the spline counts be the same on the outers (unlike the inners) or would you pick a year? Newer being better so used axles don't have higher mileage.

To be honest we had not made WRX bars before, im not sure if they change over the years. do any of you members have any insight on that ? i could more then likely make the bar and inner kit for about 600.00

I think this is an item that people would buy, but as mentioned, you guys would be wise to supply the STI inner CVs. As mentioned, that will just add several hundred to the cost.

The target market here is folks with a limited budget that want greater than stock power handling capabilities, so they go with the 6 speed and R180. Not necessarily your racing crowd. Our other options are to spend $400-$700 on a set of Legacy Spec-B axles and swap the outer CV (possibly breaking the circlip in the process), do a full STI drivetrain swap (Hubs, axles, Brembos = $$$), source 04 STI rear hubs, or the option in this thread that is hit or miss.

A reliable source for the custom race is what everyone is after. When people source the JDM 6-speeds you usually get an R-180 rear diff and the R-180 axles.

So what everyone wants is an easy way to make R-180 inner and R-160 outer (WRX 5x100) axles.

A kit with the custom race, snap rings, Circlip, etc... would be awesome!!

ok, i believe we can do this, the question would be are all the WRX axles using the same spline count on the bar and are the all the cage and races the same in the outers. I'm willing to make them if you guys can help with some info. anyone have some outer CV's we can open up ?

Wish I saw this sooner. I took my busted drivers side axle to the scrap yard with a load of other crap not 5 hrs ago. I would've sent it to ya in hopes of testing out the first ones lol I think my 5spd is going to give up the ghost on the dyno with this 20g XT on E85 when I drop it in after I get my engine from JRE in a few weeks, and will likely be doing the swap right before I go for the Final tune after break in.
