Following the release of our popular "Regular Guy" springs, Racecomp Engineering has produced a more aggressive lowering spring for the 08+ STI. These new springs lower the car approximately 15mm and include new replacement bumpstops to maintain as much travel as possible on the lowering sensitive GR Impreza chassis.
Spring rates are an aggressive 330 lbs/in front and 335 lbs/in rear. With a stance to match the performance, these springs utilize the knowledge RaceComp has gained from years of GR chassis set-up experience to maximize handling, retain ride comfort, and improve the look of your Impreza.
Racecomp Engineering’s goal was to help cure the crippling understeer that adds to lap times at the track and autocross course. Studying the design of the new GR suspension, a more aggressive performance spring has been produced that retains available bump travel, matches the OEM dampers, and works in conjunction with the new rear motion ratio. The result is a car that handles extremely well from corner entry to corner exit.

$389/set

And add a set of these for optimum control:

Racecomp Engineering GR Sway Bars

These front and rear 25mm hollow 2 position adjustable swaybars are a must have for your 2008 and later Impreza STI. Featuring carefully chosen swaybar rates and a tubular design, these swaybars weigh less than other solid bars with a similar stiffness.

RCE Yellows have shipped to respective customers.

We still have a few customers that put down deposits but haven't responded to emails/phonecalls for final payment.

Email sales@dalesalignment.com if you have not received an email or phonecall from us.

We still have a few sets in stock, let me know if you are interested.

Springs went in last week and the alignment got done today now that they have settled.

Front: zero toe, -1.5 camber, 6.7 caster
Rear: zero toe

Now I can start to really test the improvements. Prior to the alignment I noticed reduced pitch movement under acceleration and braking (nose lift/dive). That makes the passengers a little happier. The ride over bumps and potholes is just as good as stock. The ride quality is not reduced at all. No extra noises.

Body roll has improved (reduced) but not by much. Remember though that I have a lot of bushing and sway bar upgrades with an ALK already. Personally, I like my car to be even a little flatter in the corners. I would have selected a slightly stiffer spring but not by much.

Until now I have not tried to push the car too hard as it needed the alignment. I was just careful to allow the springs to settle first. However, certain long sweeping corners that I am used to are noticeably easier and the limit has been extended.

Drop is fine for a daily driver. It is noticeable that the car has a more aggressive stance but speed bumps are not a problem (even with a front lip and skirt).

$400 for springs or $2500 for coilovers, no brainer - springs.

If I was tracking the car I may consider it worth having adjustable struts but without that requirement these are all you need.
