Default HELP!!! Turbo Swap

Ok guys im getting tuned on Monday and was gonna install my vf39 in before Monday so all that has to be done is the tune. Me and a buddy took of the stock wrx turbo for an uppipe install, but am putting in a 39 thats been in my closet for a year and would like some help sometime this weekend to install it with some ones help. Thanks

Watch that inlet. The factory inlets tear VERY easily. If you do tear it and are in a pinch I have a nearly brand new one. Also make sure the bottle of the inlet is on the turbo well and not pinch. If you have a leak in that location, you will pop that motor in no time with unmetered, pre-turbo air.

I thought you were paying FAT to do all this? If you can swap a turbo, you can do injectors.

yea i was going to have him install the injectors and fuel pump since i didnt order one in time but since i took the stock turbo off it didnt seem that tough to do but since the turbo is already oiled and fluids ran thur it im just a lil nervous on the 39 that has been sitting for a good while. I just dont want to ruin anything up smh lol

If you're worried about that, you can prime the turbo by pulling the ignition fuse and then cranking the engine 4-5 times for 15-25 seconds each. That will push oil through the turbo.

mmmm ok ill look into that just dont want to blow up the turbo either before a tune. any other helpful tips??

A friend and angle pliers or a long flat-head screwdriver from below helps with the oil drain.
