Default Oil changes on new wrx / sti...

It's been asked in a couple other threads, but haven't found an answer yet..

Did anyone verify if the wrx/sti's come with synthetic or regular from the factory?

I was planning on doing a regular change at 1000 miles and then starting synthetic at 3000. You guys still recommend this???

To answer your question, that will be fine. Just make sure your oil change interval is done per maintenance schedule.
