Question I need the RMIC's help!

I'm just curious, it has come to my attention that there are car enthusiasts all over Utah that are unaware of the international, national and local road racing events that take place at Miller Motorsports Park. I would like to know how to better reach people who would like to learn more about and attending these events but are just not getting the information.

1. Are you interested in learning more about events at Miller Motorsports Park(MMP)?
2. Have you ever attended an event at MMP? If you have, which one(s)?
3. What would be your monthly budget be to attend/spectate larger National race events?
4. What would be your monthly budget be to attend/spectate smaller Local race events?
5. What TV station(s), if any, do you Watch?
6. There have been numerous TV ads/promotions for MMP, have seen any of them?
7. What radio station(s), if any, do you listen to?
8. There have been numerous radio ads/promotions for MMP, have heard any of them?
9. What would make you want to visit MMP's website to look for up coming events?
10. Do you use forums to learn about local racing events? Would you like more involvement from MMP on local forums?
11. Do you use Soical Networks(like facebook) to learn about local events? Are you a facebook fan of MMP? If not, why haven't your became a fan?
12. Have you ever seen the MMP Street Team(group of young people out officially promoting MMP)? If so, where did you see/meet the Street Team?
13. Are you interested in actually participating in motorsports events at MMP? If so, what type of events (road racing, time attack, driving schools, open track days, karting, autocross, drifting, off road/rock crawling)
14. What would be your monthly budget for events you entered?

yes, yes it is. I will see you there this weekend right?

I have had this conversation before. I get out of the car. The people walking by ask if I track my car. I tell them yes. They then tell me how the go to RMR all the time. I try to correct them by telling them its different racing out at miller where there are actual corners. They then tell me that RMR is the same and they have a track with corners. I then walk away since they are either talking about the dirt oval or the concrete oval.

It's sad really, on the Utah Pace forum the "Midnight Drags" thread is 51 pages long. The Lap Battle thread is 5 pages long. On SlCSubaru the "RMR Drag Racing 2010" is 14 pages long and 5 pages for Lap Battle. I think that reflects the level of interest in going in a straight line and racing around corners. It's fine if people want to go drag race but I think we could poach some of those drivers from RMR and get them to MMP.

yeah, the thread size is only because the lap battle get a new thread for every race and they are only there for about a month and there are only a few races a year. Also drag racing is cheap, it's a lot easier to spend $20-$50 for a face and gas then $300. I love the lap battles and miller track days but i can only afford a few of those a year. plus all the other stuff adds up, brake pads and tires are not that cheap.

2. Have you ever attended an event at MMP? If you have, which one(s)?

did their Mustang Experience last Thursday. had a great time. tour Larry H. Miller's car collection, 30 minutes of classroom instruction on how/where to brake and accelerate, 10 laps in an '07 Mustang GT with $16K of Ford Racing Parts (five students each do two laps behind the instructor), two hot laps with people who actually know how to drive fast, tour of the facility, and ~15minutes of karting. Start to finish four hours for $150 (Groupon deal).

i highly recommend it for anyone who's never been on a track.

i think the biggest problem is cost of racing at MMP vs cost of drag. MMP $175-$300 where drag is $10 haha. on top of that, it's generally "scary" to race the big track for reasons of other cars being on track with you, the possibility of seriously injuring yourself and destroying your car, etc. a 1/4 mile pass is NBD (unless your supra is spinning huge race slicks into 3rd gear )

If you realize that for people to be on track with you, they GENERALLY have to be responsible, it's no big deal. Everyone respects each other and everyone goes home safe.

I'm not really indicative of most people's situations but I'll throw out my .02 in the off chance it helps out some statistic.

1. Are you interested in learning more about events at Miller Motorsports Park(MMP)? Yeah it'd be nice to know, even if not events I could participate in
2. Have you ever attended an event at MMP? If you have, which one(s)?Been to GT live and ALMS, drove in a track day a couple years back when Cleverly hosted an event
3. What would be your monthly budget be to attend/spectate larger National race events?Depends on time moreso than money
4. What would be your monthly budget be to attend/spectate smaller Local race events?Same as above
5. What TV station(s), if any, do you Watch?Basically just ESPN in the fall
6. There have been numerous TV ads/promotions for MMP, have seen any of them?Nope
7. What radio station(s), if any, do you listen to?None
8. There have been numerous radio ads/promotions for MMP, have heard any of them?N/A
9. What would make you want to visit MMP's website to look for up coming events?Word of mouth or facebook posting
10. Do you use forums to learn about local racing events? Would you like more involvement from MMP on local forums? As far as exposure on forums goes, Biggie I'd say you do a stand up job
11. Do you use Soical Networks(like facebook) to learn about local events? Are you a facebook fan of MMP? If not, why haven't your became a fan?To be honest as far as overall exposure to events and such being a facebook fan has been the most beneficial, whoever updates it does a pretty good job of keeping fans in the know
12. Have you ever seen the MMP Street Team(group of young people out officially promoting MMP)? If so, where did you see/meet the Street Team?Never seen them
13. Are you interested in actually participating in motorsports events at MMP? If so, what type of events (road racing, time attack, driving schools, open track days, karting, autocross, drifting, off road/rock crawling)road racing/driving schools/open track days are most appealing for me
14. What would be your monthly budget for events you entered? On months I could go I'd probably be a few hundred, but I'd call me self an occasional recreational racer nothing too hard core

MMP is just way too expensive. in particular the drift events. over 100 bucks per event.
big reason i traded the corolla away.

i would really love to get out for some just fun open track days but lap battle's at 170 a pop bust my budget, i don't even really care about competing much to be honest because i'm so amateur and i didn't set up my car to max out a particular class.

i think there are so many people going to rmr for midnight drags and test and tune etc because it's easier to get into, they are every Friday night, cost next to nothing, and don't require as much safety gear to enter in.

oh, and you don't get passed by miatas there.
(lol jk, who cares?)
