Default Keyless Entry remote for 2010 Impreza

I just bought a slightly used 2010 Impreza with 525 Miles on it. It came with 2 keys and a valet key, but no keyless remote. I was wondering if anyone knows a cheap place to get them? Would different year remotes work for me? like an 08 or 09? Thanks in advance!

Call the dealer and see if you can get a new one as part of the Warranty (Goodwill at the dealer may allow this).

They do look the same but you'll have to have them programmed for your car anyways if you buy a set off someine, so I'd bite the bullet and go to the dealership.

Theres instructions in the car manual, its actually pretty easy. I got the remote yesterday on ebay for $17 shipped, and programmed it up correctly (heard all the tones and what not that means it was programmed) but it doesnt work. I changed the battery and it still doesnt work. I wonder if the remote is defective.

I got one for my 08 for $16.95 shipped from this seller on ebay: fsws99cents. They don't have one listed right now, but just search for "NHVWB1U711" (this is the part number on the back of the remote for the 3G Imprezas and some other Subies). Pick a seller with good ratings who sells a lot of remotes and get one that says it was tested.

And Silversrt41 is right, you can just follow the programming instructions in the manual. Took me maybe ten minutes to do - it didn't work on the first try, but I did get it to work. You have to do the open/close door, key in/key out dance pretty fast.

On our 01 Outback, if the remote gets wet (even just damp), the battery craps out and the little circuit board inside gets corroded. I can't even remember how many remotes I've bought for that car...first one from the dealer ($120 ) and all the rest have come from ebay with good luck.

Hope this helps.

Thank you sir, I did get another remote from the seller and i programmed it and again it confirmed that the programming was correct, but the remote does not work. The FCC id is the same as you told me to search for. Could i be doing something wrong? I wonder why they dont work?
