You will have better luck searching for WRX parts and then checking compatibility. Suspension, brakes, and most of the car will be mostly the same. Engine is different, obviously, and some few parts here and there, like the front sway bar and the lower chassis bare, will not work on the 2.5i.
so would installing an oem wrx sway bar (front or rear) improve much over whatever the 2.5i currently has?

what about endlinks?

or would you recommend going for after market performance sways?

Considering the 2.5i doesn't even have a rear sway bar, I recommend it.

I'm waiting for the Rallitek front/rear sway bar kit to get back in stock. I plan to add that and probably their front endlinks too.

On the cheap, you could add a used WRX rear bar (and the mounting hardware) pretty reasonably. I'm sure that would help things out too.

Note: The WRX front bars don't fit the 2.5i

I've got a 2010 Impreza premium 5-door, will it have the same fitment issues? I want to get front/rear sways and strut braces soon but am finding conflicting info on fitment from other years/models. I ultimately want to add more suspension and brake bits so any links or input would be appreciated.

Suspension wise, the differences between our cars and WRXs are struts and springs and the WRX has a rear sway bar. The front sways for the WRX do not bolt right up. The exhaust for the turbo is routed differently and the front sway bars for the turbo cars do not bolt-up to the non-turbo cars without some issues. As Gonz notes, you can modify your exhaust a bit ang get the to work if you want a really big sway bar, but Rallitek makes a 22mm front bar for the NA cars and that's a pretty nice improvement over stock. Beyond the front sway, anything you can do to a WRX, you can do to your car.

Nothing much previous to 08 will bolt up to your car. Anything post 08 is likely to work. As the 08 cars moved to the 05-09 Legacy platform, some of the Legacy parts from those years may work, but the rear suspension was supposedly new for 08, so there isn't likely to be much there that is compatible.

For brakes, unless you are doing some crazy driving, some nice pads, stainless brake lines, and maybe a master cylinder brace are all you really need for DD. You could move up to Legacy GT front brakes if you really want bigger brakes and don't want to go with a BBK of some sort.

I had an OEM WRX bar on my car for a while with Rallitek endlinks and it was a tremendous improvement over stock.

I've since moved up to Rallitek's set up for the NA Imprezas (front and rear) and I'm even happier, but if you want to keep costs down a used WRX bar is great bang for the buck. You should be able to find one for < $100, with endlinks.

If you don't want to modify the exhaust, you could sell your 22mm Perrin bar and get the 22mm Rallitek bar that is made for the NA cars.

From what I've read, any CBE from 08+ will fix. I'm hunting one for my hatch as we speak. Seem like so many people get new ones on their WRX's that we may be able to find something locally for CHEAP!

I also plan to get some OE WRX suspension from a 09' or 10', I hear that the 08' stuff is pretty squishy. The other option, which seems to look better every day, is putting in Koni Sport inserts and WRX springs onto the stock 11' 2.5i struts assembly.

Anybody wanna donate me your 09' or 10' WRX Struts and Springs????

Have you done, or looked into, adding anti-sway bars? The 2.5i's don't have a rear sway bar. Adding a rear bar, and upgrading the front, are probably the best bang for your dollar suspension work on these cars. The WRX struts and springs are only marginally more firm than the 2.5i's.

It's really looking like some Koni inserts/shocks, Perrin rear sway any day now, and eventually pretty f'n flush 18x8's in matte black . That's all I need, but crap, what's "need" really have have to do with this??

Do the rear sway bar first. It's pretty cheap and makes a big difference. Maximizes bang for the buck. I would put the rear sway in the "need" category.

Exhaust: Read the exhaust sticky in the NA Forum. Tons of good information. You may still go against what the thread suggests, many people do on a quest for the right sound, but at least you will be informed.

Read the suspension stickies too in the suspension forum. It's ridiculously easy to make your car ride and handle like crap while trying to drop it on a set of big rims. Again, your car, do what you want, but at least if you read you'll get advice on the best way to do it and you'll know what you are getting yourself into.

Default WRX body kits

Hi there I have a 2009 2.5i subaru impreza factory. I had my car for 5 years and it has 81000 miles on it. This winter my front bumper got damaged and I need a new one. But I have been thinking of a sti style but they are to big but someone said a 2009 wrx body kit will work my problem is how do I know it's the right kit. Can some one help me I love my car I don't need a new exhaust or engineering but since my front bumper got mangled I figure give my car new flare. Plus what size rims should I get 16 inch or 17.
