Default did the '08+ get a brake down-grade?

i have a 2011 wrx 4dr on order (currently driving an s2000 CR) and have been obsessing all week about it. i couldnt help but notice that the 2008+ wrx's have what seems like lesser brakes than the '06-'07s...
4pot/2pot vented fr & rr on the '06-'07s and 2pot/1pot vented fr & solid rr on the '08+... what gives?
somehow i just cant believe that Subaru was able to extract the same braking performance and 'feel' from a generic 2pot/1pot vented/solid setup vs the much nicer '06-'07 setup. am i missing something here?

Your tires stop your car; not your brakes. I believe the 08+ came with better tires, VDC, and oem legacy brakes.

Legacy as in LGT calipers/rotors? Or are they the same?
