Default Bike race

I'm sitting here stuck watching thousands of cyclists ride up to whistler. Best thing I have seen so far is some crazy mo fo doing it on his unicycle
it's pretty crazy to be this close to so many cyclists. I also saw a mountain bike take out a couple cyclists and ended up falling into the lanes of traffic. Everyone stopped but still crazy!
Also saw 1 cyclist hit the center concrete and need an ambulance

anyone know anyone participating?

Tons of delays. Single lane traffic. Stop and go sections. Leave 3+ hours to make it on time. It took me over 2 hours to get up to Squamish from north van

I have about a dozen co-workers in the race. I think they're nuts.

yes! ok, i'm a few days late in replying, but yeah, my boss Thomas Haas (chocolatier/pastry chef) was in the race.

so ironic though, on the day of the race I had to work the opening shift at work and b/c of the race, taylor way was completely closed off, couldn't get on the hwy, so I had to detour all the way over to 15th street to get onto the hwy.
Anyways, I ended up being like 15mins late and when I finally got back on the hwy, the leader packs (of which Thomas was in) was just climbing the hill onto the hwy!

I think thomas finished in like 3? 3.5hrs? can't remember.

your work at haas... nice, I have yet to come by there but I know of thomas he rides a lot with a group of guys I know, he is fit for sure that time sounds right. He's got a fast grind time as well.

If I come by you have to make me a hot chocolate! I hear they are the best there

I think he was probably 3:30 as the winner was 3:14...still an impressive time...does he ride a lot? Only 16 minutes off the top time is very impressive! Good for Mr Haas....he obviously isn't a chocoholic!

Yah! his grind time is about 38mins I believe.
Unfortunately, I don't make hot chocolates, no barista skills here. I never got trained on barista b/c i'm only a part-timer! But I can pound out change and write up orders like nobody's business!

Our new barista is a funny german boy named Maurius.

Yep! He's ridiculously fit. He races in Europe at least once or twice a year.
