Default license plate scratching paint

not sure if this is the right section, but here goes:

Anyone who has their license plates mounted with just screws might want to adjust the mounting method.

I only had two screws in the rear plate, and it rattled around a lot. It has worn through the paint.

I have since used washers to keep the plate away from the car, and two more screws to make it more secure.

also on the front:

anyone else have this problem? I haven't seen any posts about this yet.

get a plate frame? its almost inevitable to avoid those scratches you'll have to learn to just live with it. its hidden anyways.

I put a glob of 'Shoo Goo' on the four back corners of the plate, and let it dry before mountng. It seems to stabilize things (no rocking or vibrating) and prevent scratching/rubbing.

^ This except i cut little rubber pads that go on the bottom of dining room in half and they were the perfect contour of the plate corners, and they are self adhesive.

I don't want to sound like an a-hole, but who cares? It's under the place all the time anyway and it's not going to cause rust issue because the bumpers are plastic.

I just wish I would have known when I bought my car since it's so easily avoidable. Plus the one on the back of the newer generation is metal
