ALMS claimed they weren't getting enough spectators among other things. I tried to tell them that having the main event on a Sunday in Utah might detract a number of Utahns from showing up. The main race has only been on a Saturday once (the 1st year they came) and there was a huge turnout that day. I know the economy doesn't help either.

That is weak as we have the best track in the country hands down. We need to petition them to return!

Lame.

Hopefully Grand Am keeps coming. It was a good race this year.

Rolex, the SBK, and by a few accounts, the Lucas Truck race are all top events.

FWIW, ALMS is a support event for IndyCar at Baltimore's street race, from what I can tell.

The Baltimore GP is shaping up to be an east coast Long Beach GP. I understand that it is all about the bottom line and it is hard to draw crowds into Utah like other high profile event but it still sucks ass no more ALMS here. I was supposed to go to Long Beach for 2011 for the race but will be deployed so maybe I can swing a trip to Road Atlanta for petit le mans.
