Default Turbo Question

I keep seeing all of these universal turbo kits on line that just require you to buy you own manifold and down pipe separately. My question is, would I be able to put one of these kits on my 2010 impreza 2.5i? im assuming if I could I would probably have to keep it at a low boost level right?

Wrong forum. Look in the AFI forum. Post a link to a specific turbo kit

You can put one on there. But it would require a lot of fabrication. Adding forced induction isn't just a simple swap a few parts, bolt, and go.

There is no such thing as a universal turbo kit. Don't believe Ebay...

I completely understand that, trust me i never thought id just be able to bolt that on and go. Its obviously going to require alot of work and time. My question was if I bought that would it be some cheezy piece of ***** or would it work if i set it up right

no you wouldn't be crazy to install it yourself if you got an avo kit... if you can swap out a few exhaust and intake pieces, plus add a couple of oil lines the avo kit should be fairly simple to installed once it is out

but don't forget you are going to need a good tune if you want your car to survive for any extended period of time

people aren't replying because this has been covered in the N/A thread probably about 500 times. Take your screen name and switch timing with the word idea.. And that's what putting a turbo on your car is.. a bad idea. Don't spend anymore time pondering it, because it would be a much better idea to just buy a WRX. The cost of turboing you car would cost more then just buying a 2010 wrx. You would need to do extensive mods to your car to run even low boost reliably. Sorry to be the barer of bad news but the 2.5 is just not made for boost.. that's what the WRX is for.. same model turbo engine.

lol... bro, come on.. price of your car + price of turbo goods and mods to make your car reliable = more then a 2010 wrx.. simple stuff... If you look at what the WRX comes with vs your car and the pricing.. the turbo car from the factory is cheaper.. I promise I know I had 2 RS' and now a turbo audi.. all brand new Been on both sides. Good luck blowing up a new engine with the AVO.

...Why would you turbo a brand new car? Have fun when your engine goes kaboom.

by the way i'm not trying to be a dick.. Though my sense of humor may seem like that on the old nabisco. Seriously though, don't turbo your car.. ... ... the turbonator is as far as you should go.
