Default Car got egged last night. What to do?

Hey.

So last night a Bunch of cars on the street got egged, mine included.

Got the drivers door and windshield.
Unfortunately I'm in kamloops. Car covered in dirt and egg and it's below freezing. I think impact site on side door is scratched up.

Heard egg is hell to get off. What you suggest to do to try and remove it safely. pressure wash self cleaning station or drive through car wash? Can't self clean in driveway cuz it's below freezing.

Hopefully the clear damage is not too bad.

If it's worse, you may need your door re-cleared to prevent peel and further issues with your paint.

If it's not too bad, get as many particles of shell off as possible using air/water etc. Then like washing a really dirty car, try your best not to scratch it as you wash it. If the clear coat appears to be okay, then I would suggest to detail the door (polish/wax) to prevent anything that may have melted off with the egg-goop.

i don't think egg is going to be a big issue with it being so cold. Ya when it's hot out and you end up with cooked egg plastered to your paint it would be an issue but frozen egg should just wash off. Only major issue I could see is dents scratches from the shells...

you should call back and try again. filing a report is the only way they can allocate resources to your area for patrol

You should wash it and see if there is damage, happened to me a few years ago with my integra. The paint at the spot where the egg hit actually created this weird collapsing circle right through the paint from the shell breaking. It was a white fuzzy ring through the black paint. Ended up having to get it touched up by an independent painter since it cost less than paying my deductible

Originalozzyo how were the results of the touch up?

That's exactly what happened to me.

I washed it twice and it all came off.
Took a bit of the shine away, lucky I had it detailed recently so hopefully it just took off the polish not the clear coat!

But it left a little collapsing circle of white pokes through the paint. Hard to tell with DGM as it kids looks like the sparkles the paint already has.

But yah. Don't wanna pay 300$ deductible. Unless clear coat is messed up too.

I got my dd with egg down one side. Rubbed coke in and let it sit for ten minutes. Came back and kind of worked it off. Could've used a little buff after but no major damage.

If I remember it cost about $150 +/- to just touch up that little area and do a quick blend. After I just did a minor hand polish with autoglym to smooth if all out.

That sounds about perfect to me,
Do you remember what company did it?

Can't remember who it was. Someone referred them to me. I bet the two body shop guys here in our local chapter could probably point you in the right direction, or you could just call a couple places. There is some place on Hastings in burnaby near Kensington that does touch up painting. Never tried them though
