As long as it is fairly mellow. I'll save the heavy duty for 3:30 A.M. when both lanes are mine.
I have been getting mellower lately though, or maybe just pickin smoother lines. What a road! |

OH.....I know this road like the back of my hand. I have two really good freinds that live 8 or so miles up the canyon. Back in high school, we both had Legacy 1.8T and would race/time each other from the light at hwy 93 up to the turn off to his house. I think the record is 10min or so for 8 miles of twisty roads. You have to do it at night like at 2-3 am so you can see the head lights of cars coming the other direction, cutting corners and stuff.
Kurt Oh and watch out for those stupid deer |

i took hwy6 into golden, went straight at the light where 6 goes up clear creek canyon so i was then on hwy93
passed a few lights till i saw a sign that said Golden Gate Canyon and turned left...there's a light at the intersection. if we meet at that loaf & jug right off of hwy93, i can show the way for everyone who hasn't been there yet. -Dave |

Oh yeah, and don't drive the road UP, drive it down, some of the best corners are coming down the canyon because of altitude changes, I assure you, you want to be going UP around really tight corners rather than down... Start at the 119 side of the road (take 119 up through Vegas if you want, about 9 miles past, take a right down golden gate canyon).... end ens up back on 93, take a right to head back to the 58/93/6 intersection where Diz and I almost got some VERY VERY expensive tickets.
Another option is do like Nick, Diz and I did... drive up 93 to boulder, up canyon road through Nederland, past nederland through rollinsville, and the left (about 8 or 9 miles past rollinsville) onto Golden Gate. The above drive is a good one.... the drive from boulder to Nederland is two lanes most the way with good open corners, from Nederland past rollinsville to the turn off there are some really good high speed runs (where you can see the road/lights for miles ahead of you)... be careful going through Rollinsville, we blew through there at like midnight at about 85-100mph, radar detectors going nuts, but Paul wouldn't slow down, no one followed, local cops I'm sure were like "huh? did you just see 3 cars go by here?"... Peace - Z |

How was it? I don't have web access over the weekend, so buzz me if you're gonna go. 303.324.0416. I'm getting my brakes this week, so I'm waiting 'till those go in to do my next run.
