Default Trunk Holes

Ok so i want to go with the wingless look now apparentley finding a wingless trunk is harder then its seems. I know filling in the holes is a option but what is the best way to go about doing this. I really dont want the holes filled with bondo is there anyway i can have the holes patched with some light tin or steel (what ever the trunk is made of ) and can anybody suggest a shop to do this where im not going to get rapped. Im in slurrey

or if anybody has a wingless trunk they want to sell me that would be great to

its a 04 wrx
Thanks Nick

Proper way of filling holes would be to weld them closed, then some filler on top to smooth it out. Then paint the trunk and color blend both quarters. Or you can buy an oem 2.5rs one and repaint and blend both quarters.....OR.....now's a good excuse to buy a CF trunk!

already asked talked to Loomin about this. Buying a new trunk from SGP and painting it might even be more cost effective than plugging the holes =P

Good luck =D

i asked frd(body man) before getting the 2.5rs trunk

plugging the holes and bondo over it might even be heavier then a STi wing with trunk. that's why i choose to buy a 2.5rs trunk instead of filling the holes and paint it

^^ I don't think any real body man will be able to build that much filler that will out weigh a STi spoiler.

On a side note, the wrx trunk only has 7 holes to weld shut versus 16 or so on the STi trunk.

There is no way a trunk with holes filled will weigh more then a trunk with a STi spoiler.

You are only filling int he holes, then a layer of filler to smooth it out. It really doesn't weigh that much more.

buying a new trunk is cheaper and will look better than filling the holes.

even if you used 2 gallons of bondo on it, the STI wing is STILL heavier haha. that wing is heavy!

i bought a cf trunk and painted it. ~US$400-600 depending on used/new and CAD$250-300 to paint it.

Yeah, that trunk was beat up, but all said and done, it still wouldn't weight more then a STi trunk.
