Default new car! RSTi time, back to subarus

hey just bought an 02 Rsti , has some issues,

power steering is almost non existent and the pump howls like crazy (ryan said he'll try to dig up another one, one of those things that was supposed to be taken care of before the sale), no washer pump, ic spray seems to be there(tank and button at least) but no lines in the engine bay, boost is run from the turbo line and etc, not hooked to bcs(running minimum boost) no cruise control

i could use a tactrix cable if anyone has a cheap one, or is willing to lend one for a bit to logging and checkup-ing

now, for some Q's
the ecu is an 04 along with the harness and tranny/drivetrain, long-block is 06, any incompatibilities with this? avcs issues?
-answered
is there anything that could make a power steering pump whine and not respond other than just being dead? air in the lines?

strange thing was cold i got no power assist, then a couple blocks down the road i got some intermittent effort from it and the wheel would shake (power steering shake(more of a pulse, not tires or suspension) when i was turning it. with small inputs power steering would not do anything, but stopped at a stoplight and cranking the wheel it would eventually start whining and help a bit.

also, I haven't driven a wrx for a good couple months and never have driven a rs, any way to tell the differences from one steering rack to another other than the ratios?

didn't gimmick make a 3 port bcs? or did they stop selling those?

i figure i'll run it as is on less than stock boost till i figure everything out and it's true state of tune, then get it back to stock, and then a clark tune w/3 port, then injectors and join the e85 army, and then fp-green and call it a day. i figure if i do the upgrades one by one i can keep feeding the HP addiction step by step rather than ending up bored with 350-400 awhp.

reference here for pics for now: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2055529

You wont have any AVCS issues. 04-07 STI is pretty much the same engine and all had AVCS, just had internal changes and different casings.

ya i saw it in person awhile back. but almost every used car has paint issues to some degree. didnt really have a detailed look at it when i saw it. i love the 04 rear on the bugeye looks how it should have always looked i think.

hey guys, new thing to add to the list! i need a uv pen or light. i had him charge the ac and he said he replaced all the orings too, ac was ice cold yesterday, today, nothing. f***ing great. power steering reservoir has mad bubbles in it so off to autozone to get some orings and hope that is it.otherwise time for new lines

if anyone in the UC has a uv pen /light and would be willing to bring it to in and out Thursdays or whatever we call it now or let me come over when it's dark i would appreciate it. also if anyone has a couple extra canisters of freon or a hookup on it i would appreciate it. thanks.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1897783

i really hope the ac problem is just a seal in a line and not another f***ing bunk condenser. i really want to get over these critical headaches as soon as possible so i can start troubleshooting everything else
