H9 bulbs are brighter than the stock H11s. And no, those headlights are the best lights ever made compared to '02-3 headlights.

how hard is it to take apart the 08+ headlights? I need to clear out some "fog" but I'm afraid of f*cking it up when I take it apart / put it back together

Have yours upgraded: http://www.blackflamecustoms.com/

Or make a custom low-beam wiring harness to effectively get more power to the bulbs.

TRS has just released a bolt-on retrofit kit for 06/07 - 08/09 headlights. Bi-Xeon mini DS2 projectors. Super bright, Super clean, Super sharp. Just ordered mine, should be in this week.

Its no more difficult to take yours apart than most Subaru headlights but if you aren't confident then at least find someone whos done it before. The projectors Kupkake mentioned should fit your lights as well if you're interested in a proper HID retrofit.

im gonna check out these projectors, but the fog is on the inside because the guy who had the car when the HID's were put in, cut the back of the housing too big for the rubber grommet and with the humidity down here in georgia/florida they got all jacked up.
