Default hybrid question

ive been doing alot of reading on building a hybrid for my bugeye since my stock motor just grenaded.. im looking to do a 2.5 with my 2.0 heads (granted there not destroyed).. i see everyone talking about using a ej255 or ej257 bottom end to do this.. could the same be done using a N/A 2.5 bottom end? i plan to swap out pistons and possibly rods no matter what and i can get a N/A 2.5 for pretty cheap.. i couldnt find anything saying yes or no so i figured id ask, please dont flame me

and im aware of everything else needed when doing the swap just need this info

I have an 02 with a 2.5 bottom end. I purchased the car this way and didn't find out until months later. I would stay away from N/A motors because the block is not reenforced. Make sure you have a way to tune the setup once the wrenching is done. My car was missing the AP when I pulled it out of a junk yard.
