Default Inexpensive upgrades, '07 Forester

Hey everyone,

I just got a 2007 Forester, and I'm trying to find relatively inexpensive upgrades I can do. So far, I'm thinking about straight piping the exhaust, but I want to know what you all think! Thanks in advance.

It will be loud, and not pretty. Maybe think about lifting it slightly with 1" - 2" strut spacers, or some aftermarket suspension parts. It's real hard to get much HP out of these 2.5 N/As without dropping some real $$$$

That would be a horrible decision.
Go for tires, suspension and brakes in that order.

What tires, suspension, and brakes do you recommend?

I don't know your budget, what's available near you or your end goals for the car.

Have you read through the Brakes, Steering & Suspension subsection of the forum?

Cheap upgrade is an open source tune. Check to see if there a tuner around you that has done a naturally aspirated Subaru before.

Also, what are you trying to do with the car? A strait pipe is going to be annoying as hell on the highway. Drone is a lot worse in the wagons compared to the sedans/coupes.

The sound you will want won't be straight piping your exhaust as it will sound like a tin can civic.

You'll need to unlock the boxer rumble by buying Unequal Length Headers, High Flow cat, and to make it louder a full catback setup. Unless you mean inexpensive is $0 then cut away.
