I'm a fairly private person and normally I keep my personal business, well, personal. But the delays in getting orders filled has become so extreme that it warrants being address publicly: I was happy as a clam making my headers full time and developing new products, but due to some family obligations (I had to assist my dad with his business in his last year before retiring), my ability to fill orders became greatly diminished. To the point that where I was originally making a header every day or two, I'm now down to making a header every week or two. So you can only imagine how quickly things backed up.

Everyone that has ordered a header will get a header... eventually. The orders placed from the beginning of the year until now are the ones who have waited the longest. I will be able to resume building headers full time in November, so the orders placed now should wait "only" the three months stated on the website.

Good news is that since I am no longer making the v2, anyone that ordered the v2 will automatically get upgraded to the v2.5
I encourage anyone that is sick of waiting to simply ask for a refund. At one point this summer I almost issued everyone refunds and stopped taking orders completely. And although it wouldn't have been a big deal to a customer that had just placed his order, I felt it wasn't fair to the customers who had already been waiting four long miserable months. So as of now I'm just slowly trudging along, filling orders, finishing custom builds, and working on new product development, in the extremely limited free time I have... until November, then it's on like Donkey Kong!

I have a good feeling barely anyone's going to want a refund, they'll just keep waiting a little more

Yeah Mike you ever consider farming out some of the header to a local welder? Small batch only say 10 or so? That is a much more effective way to control quality and mitigate any snags at least until Nov. IM sure there is a local guy willing to simply weld your pieces together per a jig for not that much.

Okay maybe someone can answer my question. If i put this header on and bolt it up to my stock exhaust will I get some sort of tone out of it? Eventually I will get a cat back but for the time being I will have my stock exhaust.

I would suggest just a magnaflow muffler, no need for a catback, I got a smaller one that's a 2.5inch straight through because I didn't want one that was to loud, sounds just as loud as the spt axle back. Welded on plus new hangers and labor only set my back $60 including the muffler.

I went from complete stock to headers and magnaflow catback. That would be the best decision IMO because you value your headers and exhaust equally. And the shock factor is +10 on first start up. It's possible if you can wait, I kept my CB in the house for 4 months, looking at it every day before I put it on the car, that was the hardest part.

Yeah with my UELs on and stock CBE there is NO difference in tone only in the melody while cruising at say 65MPH on the interstate. Now with my Bosal v1.5 installed its sounds like this:

Sorry if I missed it, but what are the major differences between the v2.5 and v3? Does one make more power than the other? Does one have more of an EL sound than the UEL rumble?

The v2.5 just splits the (small) difference in performance between the now discontinued v2 and the current v3.

They both rumble like crazy, I have a customer supplied vid, but its in 3gp format and I'm not computer savvy enough to post it.

That does seem to be the gist of what Mike does with his versions.

So, got the headers on this afternoon. I reset the ecu, installed headers, changed engine, trans and differential fluids, and replaced the air filter. The initial impressions are good. While it was no titanic improvement, I definitely found more power in the first 4 gears when pulling. 5th gear on my 2.5i is a bit wide so don't feel much difference.

As far as sound goes, I have a stock exhaust system besides the header. I did open up and gut the muffler 2 years ago or so. I definitely hear the beginnings of the Subaru rumble but I would need to swap in an aftermarket system to really hear it. I don't know if the aftermarket system would really improve performance that much, since all that is left is the 2 resonator sections and then my gutted muffler.

Oly thing I noticed is now I have what sounds like an exhaust leak/tick. I ran out of time and motivation for the night to pinpoint it, but I'll go over my work tomorrow and see if something is loose.

Overall much pleased! Would buy again

Sent him an email too trying to find out about the quieter tip and full cat. Not in any hurry though. Money burning a hole in your pocket?

Two year update:

I made an order for mine two years ago when it was originally offered as the original prototype, sadly last Monday I was rear ended and my car was totaled, I took the headers off and they're still just as perfect as day one, other than being a darker metallic brownish color. They will be going into a 2010 forester soon with an spt exhaust on it which I'm very excited to hear!

Default Got them Installed!

I haven't been able to find a video of the UEL headers on this particular Catback for the hatch. Figured I would share here first.

LOL, why would there not be one already? I'm confused.

The drone must be horrible if there's no resonator.
