Default new to forum, questions about Denver shops and warranty

hey, i'm the proud owner of a new (to me) 2007 impreza outback sport. i'm really loving the car and i look forward to my first colorado winter with an awd vehicle.

my car has a four year extended warranty, which is good until next summer. it's due for the 30k mile checkup very soon.

where should i take my car for the checkup? does anyone know if i *have* to have the checkup performed by a subaru dealer because i'm under warranty, or can i go to an independent shop? i don't want to void the warranty by going to an indie shop, but i'd rather not pay more than i have to.

thanks, and i look forward to reading more on the forum.

You'll need to actually read the warantee terms. They will likely spell out exactly what's required and who can do it. People here can say "oh, my warantee lets me do this or that" but it has nothing to do with yours necessarily.

There ya go.

subaru says that i don't need to go to a dealer to have the work done, i just need to save the receipt for the work performed.

so, can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the denver area?
