Default Clutchmaster Stage III + Fidanza Flywheel = chatter

HI, i just mounted my new setup, clutchasmter stage III and a Fidanza Flywheel, after it, i ran the car and there is a lot of shadder, the car vibrates a lot, when you are letting the clutch out on first gear.

I want to know if this is normal because is brand new, or did the guy who mounted it did something worong?

All I have in the transmission is kartboy´s short shifter and bushing

Did it chatter from the time you drove it out of the garage? The flywheel face might have had something on it.

Also the stage 3 requires easy driving for ~600 or so miles IIRC before you drive hard with it. The shop guys (or you) didn't go for an "agressive spin" after it was installed to test it, did they? You might have to wait out the 600 miles to see if it goes away. You have told the shop about this problems already, right?

cheeRS,

Yes, in fact beafore i tested the car the already had tested it, and they told me about the chattering issue. Then i drove it and it is really noticiable, i did not push it hard since i know about the 600 miles break in period, but i am not sure if the guys from the shop did not do it since they wanted to test it, and the guy from the shop told me when i went to get the car, that the flywheel was a good buy because he felt the car faster, so i can´t tell you how hard he pushed it.

But all i want to know is if this is normal when the clutch is new? or do i have to go back and get it dismounted and mounted right?

With the Clutchmasters Stage III and the stock flywheel, it would chatter like crazy until it was broken it. It really does require 500+ miles of NO SLIP driving. If you slip it--even a little--during the break-in period it will chatter and stink.

And, if you don't follow the break-in period religiously, it will never drive right. That's life with a kevlar disc. Put off impressing your friends for a couple of weeks and drive like an old lady. If you do it right you'll be very happy.
