Not really or not noticeable in most locations. I listen to weak signaled AM talk radio every day and have no problems.

This might sound dumb, but, how exactly do you uninstall the oem one and install this one?(mounting studs?) is it just a screw on or pop-on ? thanks.

Its easy, just un-screw the factory part and screw this one on. No tools needed.

It is a stud that threads into the base of the antenna and the factory antenna base. If you remove and look at your factory antenna you will see a threaded stud sticking out of the bottom of the antenna, that is very much like the stud we are talking about.

To remove your factory antenna firmly grasp it with your dominant hand and turn left to un-screw until it is free. To reinstall just reverse those steps.
