Default Factory 06 STi HID replacement guide??

Does anyone know if there is a DIY for just replacing the factory HID bulbs in a hawkeye??? I've looked all over, but haven't found anything, and I'm sure there's something out there...Thanks

D2S capsules(bulbs) can be found just about anywhere. Theretrofitsource.com is a good place to start. The higher the color temperature is the less visible the light is in poor conditions such as rain, fog, etc. Prices are much more reasonable than factory replacements.

TRS=great place to shop.

I'm running morimoto 4300k capsules, which is pretty much the OE standard...although I've used 5000k and felt they have a bit more usable light

Have you even looked at it to try and figure it out?? Often times these things are really simple if you poke around

Open the cap on the back of the headlight housing-this will be directly behind the projector. It should need 1/4 turn or so. There will be a cap, possibly metal underneath-this also gets a 1/4 turn to disconnect it. You now should be able to see the back of the HID capsule and the spring retainer holding it in place. Push and squeeze the retainer and it should pivot out of the way. The HID capsule should slide out easily. Replace the old capsule with the new one taking care not to touch the capsule(bulb) and reverse the previous sequence. If I can find pictures I will post them as well. Some say removing the battery is needed but I've been able to change both halogen and HID hawkeyes without doing so though its a pain. Sorry for the misread and please fill out your profile.

Just did this today. It was very straight forward. No instructions really needed.

However I did need to remove my battery.
