FAiL dude... how about breaking in your $40,000 car properly instead of "racing" it right off the bat... Whatever though, it's your car but that post made you sound like an immature 17 year old with a brand new STi

Really, racing to 4K RPM and you couldn't tell my comment was a joke. Take the lid off the jar and let it breath once in awhile. So quick to flame.

Green Marine, we met the other day at the Shopette at Rucker.. the Limited..
For the rest of the Alabama Subie Community, where is a good Subaru dealer to get service at? I live near Dothan, and already drove to Montgomery, needed an alignment, and from the moment I drove in the mechanic was being a doush about working on the car, not to mention they scratched my door. Was able to buff it out but not going there again.. i also drove to Ft. Walton dealer, told me that if I drove the 2 hours he would get the car in. Nope, the only good thing about that trip was the Wife and I made it a date... I can pretty much do any maintenance if needed, but I rather have the dealer do the maintenance for resale if I ever sell

Howdy, good to see ya on here

I hear ya on all of that man. I'm stocking up my garage to be able to do all but major Maintenance while I'm down here... Actually buying ANOTHER Subaru as a DD so I won't have to drive the STi around down here... I miss my shop back in Raleigh, NC (TurboTime)... Being away from them definitely makes me alittle "scared" to drive my STi ... ESPECIALLY since the insurance rates for this little town in Southeast Alabama are HIGHER than when I lived in the capitol of North Carolina!!!... What does that tell ya?
- **** drivers
- People without insurance
- Unsafe / unregulated cars
- LOTS of insurance claims

So yeah, as much as my STi can stay in the garage, the better

I have another dd, just being worked on right now. Ita the only way i have been able to keep the STi at less then 40k in 4.5 years of driving it. Most miles on it were highway when I drove from here to Ft. Campbell almost every weekend for 6 months straight.. I will be doing some stuff to the Subie here in the near future, maybe we can find some more guys interested in taking a trip to Atlanta for some tunning runs

OR this is a major area for freedom thinking and as opposed to have insane restrictions and laws and emissions and all that crap (major crazy state troopers yo ) we have a bit of a hike in insurance. Not all to do with drivers. Not having insurance, yes that happens a LOT here due to the poorer community, mainly one community though

Please... ... "Freedom thinking"??? What and you don't have the freedom to "THINK" everywhere else in the US that you go?? No, I'd rephrase that "Freedom of Stupidity / Ignorance"... And "insane restrictions and laws and emissions"?? You do know those (and I can't think of any law off the top of my head that is "insane") laws and restrictions and emissions are there for one main reason. SAFETY... Public Safety, Personal Safety and Environmental Safety...

EVER SINCE I have moved here to this retarded town of Enterprise, AL people have been burning trash and all sorts of crap ALMOST DAILY!!! Yeah those of you that are here and are used to it are thinking "whatever, big deal"... But someone like myself, I am extremely allergic to that ****, and am sick and congested almost NONSTOP... Do I really need to go into detail about how much pollution THAT is releasing and what kinds of bad stuff is in it? And I'm not talking clean pollution (like what comes out of the back of a car, that is relatively clean), I'm talking about all sorts of heavy metals, VOC's, POM's to name a few. That's what you're smelling when you smell burning plastic, treated wood, and many other things I smell everyday in the morning when I go to PT - where I just came from (google chemistry of air pollution if you are interested)...

So I can see that when someone (or a group / area / state / etc.) lives in unregulated ignorance any form of "control" or "restriction" is immediately seen as insane or even "un-american"... But really? I mean I know the topic of toxicology and man-made chemicals better than most, but you don't need a degree in Environmental Sciences to understand that certian things (MOST man-made) are not good for your health, the health of those around you AND the environment in which you live...

In closing I'll get back on topic... Yes you're right, probably the hike in insurance that I experienced when I came here to a town of what, 30,000 (maybe) from a city / area of nearly 1 million is not all down to drivers. I'd even speculate that alot of it is down to this being a military town. And military people tend to blow ALOT of $ on their cars (I've seen enlisted soldiers living in nearly sub-standard housing, rolling around in $50+k BMW's and Merc's). Who then turn around and crash them. So one reason the insurance rates in this area are high is probably because the average claim cost is higher per person... Fair enough...

But really though dude, I'm coming from North Carolina, NOT California (yes, if ever there was a state I WOULDN'T want to live in because of STUPID regulations and all sorts of crap, THAT is the place). Our laws in NC are strict, but the population and environment benefits from having emissions restrictions. And if the argument is regarding the extra 5-10% (MAYBE) power that a CAT-less car would make over a CATed car, they can keep that little bit. I'm not racing from point to point where I go so I could care less about all out power in a street car... But then again, I can see that if people were used to living without restrictions on them that they would be alittle hostile to change that would help out EVERYONE as a whole... But screw your fellow man, ignorance is bliss... If anyone has that mindset, then sadly that is an attitude that will severely limit the progress of human kind, and indeed the entire planet... Even the bible, which is probably more highly regarded and read down here in the "Bible Belt" (and I am NOT anywhere near religious - therefor I am most certainly the anti-Christ to the vast majority of the people in the area here ) than modern scientific studies and REAL WORLD issues, says that you are to "love thy neighbor"... Meaning to care for, treat with respect everyone...

Damn I got off topic... But the point I was trying to make is that the excuse you listed about this area being "a major area for freedom thinking and as opposed to have insane restrictions and laws and emissions and all that crap", just doesn't fly... There are no excuses other than laziness and ignorance... (can ya tell I don't like Alabama at all? ... Don't worry, I'll go back to NC as soon as possible)
