Default exhaust questions???

ok so I just picked up an 06 sti. My wife drives it to work every day. She wants to put a nice sounding exhaust on it that is not crazy loud. What do you guys think about doing the Cobb 3" turbo back with the stage 2 access port? is that a good sounding exhaust but not to loud? I want it to be a good sound and you can hear it coming but not annoyingly loud for my wife. Whats your guys input?

Some cabin drone at cruise, a bit of a growl when you get on the gas, but otherwise a very respectable exhaust tone.

This exhaust sounds really nice, I actually have my COBB downpipe and mid-pipe for sale. I don't have the muffler anymore, but you can pick it up from Rallysport Direct or see if Les still has his for sale on the forum. My downpipe is the catless model. Let me know if you're interested in saving some money from buying brand new!

I really like my G200 by Invidia pretty mellow unless you get on it, and barely any drone on the freeway/highway.

Drone is the Honda civic with glass pack going past you on the freeway... "WAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaa..." and you can still hear it when he's a mile ahead of you (or behind you if you decide to show him how a turbo works) HAHA

Your exhaust making a loud droning sound inside your car while you drive so you end up shouting to your passenger and have to crank your music to hear it.

COBB exhaust sounds good, but IMO to quiet, cant really hear the boxer rumble like some other louder exhausts.

I agree with ^^ I like it but for me it's a little too quiet, I like my exhaust, it's a custom built piping with a cobb catted downpipe, made to fit in the stock location as well, but it's quiet when I am just driving around, well quiet enough I think, and then if I get on it then it makes some freaken noise haha, not as loud as a catless but it's a good sound I think.

I think you should find out how much it would cost you to make one instead. the expensive side is the downpipe, depending on what you find used or how much you want to spend new.
