Event: dyno pull
Location: TheShopCT, Norwalk, CT
Ambient Temp: 35F
Elevation: 0ft
Weather: So freakin cold
Tires: 18" Enkei Dished Wheels

Car: 2007 STi
Tuner: STi Mikey of PhatBotti Tuning
Dyno Info: Dyno Dynamics (1.2CF)
Transmission: Stock 6 Spd
Gear: 4th
Peak HP at RPM: 495.5 @ 6100rpm
Peak Torque at RPM: 460 @ 4700
Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno: 240whp
Target Boost: 28psi
Target AFR: 11.0
Fuel: 93 pump gas
Engine/Power Modifications:

TheShopCT shortblock, rotated 35R .63, FiveO 1200cc injectors,
Full 3" TBE, headers, external gate, EBAY FMIC, Perrin Big Maf, Tial BOV

Carbon Diffuser, Wide dished wheels, Wide body kit, Fenders rolled, Front lip, slammed, all cool stuff I wish I did

First off I want to congratulate Nick for having the nicest 07 STi I have ever seen. I am a horrible photographer, the pics do absolutely no justice.
The car is beautiful and the powerband is great for any kind of racing.

It was a long day for sure, but as the graph shows, all of the work paid off. We battled vac leak, after vac leak. We blew couplers. Leaky BOV, pin holes in the intake, I scaled the lower maf 39.5 times, and so on

I planned on running 25psi on the car with intensions of running 20psi for the road course driving Nick likes to do. @ 25psi, I was able to get 470whp out of her with a conservative ignition curve.

I was ready to call it quits until Jimmy said I wasnt done, 28psi! Haha, Nick seemed to like the idea, so I went a bit aggressive with the boost. I did 5 dyno pulls and probably 10-12 highway pulls out to 130 with no fbkc, flkc, or IAM drop. So 28psi for the street, and a nice 420-430 on 20psi for road racing. The car pulls like a freight train with that torque hit from the high boost

Here are a few pics:

And the graph:

Enjoy guys,

-Mikey

Is that boost at the compressor or intake manifold?

what a great looking car and power band. nice work guys! I know there has been a ton of discussion about the ebay fmic and its performance. Just wanted to here from some of the crew at The Shop CT if you thought it might be holding back power?

I don't mean to open up a can of worms and derail the thread but was just curious. Any comments or insight are appreciated. If you dont want to get into it thats cool too!

Again, sweet car and setup

What a hoot. Mike, you are really building up on your foundation.

Welcome man, just know there is no reason to spend a bundle on a FMIC. a perfect kit for under $400 and i'm a good example if it being effective.

the only problem with the kit was actually getting a kit from CSS......and getting a complete kit......

FYI CSS got banned from NASIOC due to not delivering their product or complete kits......but you can find the same kit for sale as ESS and for the same price.....but they are getting the stuff from CSS so again, dont hold your breath to get it in a timely manner....or with all the hoses and clamps.

Hahah, thanks man. You would think that I would try chasing that number but I couldnt bring myself to do it.

I told Nick I would be happy with 470 @ 25psi. When I got there, more boost was recommended.. well, demanded

25psi got us 469whp. The next pull we came up with the 495.5 and refused to go any further on pump, even though a small devil voice kept saying 30psi would be a good idea

Outside of boost, the car is running very low timing. Even with the small back housing, boost was SOLID. I wish I got a copy of the curve to post, 28 psi by 4450 and 27.3 by 7k.

Being that it was freezing out, I also decided to murder the timing comps, starting in the 50's Next week we are meeting back up after my tuning trip to miami. We are going to dial the boost down to 20psi and rip on the car for a half hour relentlessly to be absolutley sure this beast is safely ready for the road course.

I'm really happy your loving the setup dude. Before you buy another BOV, I have a sping out of my car we can try when I get back from Miami.

How was the ride home in 30 degree weather without my fat ass weighing the car down. I bet it was pretty rediculous the way you haul on the merrit
