Default Porting and Polishing

Hey guys,
If i port my Gt spec headers to match the gasket, will the speed that gases move be affected, have been told that making the header opening the size of gasket opening will reduce velocity and could slow spool up???
Any help appreciated

You're just porting a small bit of the inlet and outlet flange I'm assuming and not the diameter of the entire runners right? That will make for better transition flow from head to header and header to turbo but won't(shouldn't) affect overall exhaust velocity that much at all.

i wouldn't imagine a match port to do anything but help flow. When you get into modifying the entire runner size, such as, dia...etc. is when it is possible to go too big.

look into what is called a stepped header. Similar/same principal and I don't feel like typing out Yon my phone) why gasket matching exhaust is dumb. Put simply, it helps reduce reversion.
