No worries, it runs. And runs pretty fast too. It also has a sweet smoke screen feature which might help us out with the getaway from the police.

what is part two? just rebuilding motor or going with something different?

I'm still working on this car. Slowly because work and wedding planning take priority.

Either way, I finally got my hands on a part I've been seeking for a long time: A Prodrive V8 STi cluster. Mine has a DCCD display, blue gauge faces, , green lights with red needles, shift light with buzzer, and MPH output along with all the lights and stuff my WRX cluster had like temp display. The only thing it doesn't have is cruise control display. The lights and pins are there, but no spot for them to shine through. I think I could mod it to have them, but I can't bring myself to cut up such a rare part.

Most of these clusters out there have no DCCD display, so this one is pretty rare. I've heard there are only between 400 and 500 of these clusters around, most still in the 2004 WR1 Prodrive Type-UK STi's. But who knows the actual number.

I wanted this so I could hook up the DCCD controller and keep the green display I appreciate (orange gives me a bit of a headache over time for some reason.)

For the cruise control, I've decided to add two LEDs to the one blank switch plate left of the steering wheel. One will trigger when the CC is on and the other will trigger when the CC is set. With this car, I rarely use the CC anyway, so this is a fair compromise.

Here are some pictures (not my pictures, but same cluster). I hope to get it installed this month.

I actually plugged this in yesterday and found out it all works except for a couple of things:

1) ABS light is on. I need a relay to reverse the ABS signal to the cluster. It works the opposite in this cluster as it does on the 06 WRX cluster. Easy fix.
2) Rear diff temperature light is on. I can either ground out the signal wire to the cluster OR install a working rear diff temp sensor and circuit. Both are easy, but I don't know what course I will take. I would love to have it working.
3) DCCD lights need to be hooked up.

Other than that it ALL works. Pretty sweet. Even the temperature gauge, but it now reads in C instead of F. But I work in C just as well as I do F so I'm cool with that. The shift light and buzzer work great.

The cluster has a hair over 8000 miles on it.

I've got a lot in store for the next 6 months. The main one arrived tonight... overnighted from Japan.

This:

Into this:

Its a V8 EJ207 Spec-C motor, twinscroll VF-36 ball bearing turbo, factory oil cooler. The motor looks clean as hell so far. There will be some challenges, but I've got some plans; stay tuned. I'll flood you guys with pictures.
