normal wear OR abnormal wear? pix

seems that its close to 50/50 chance of normal/abnormal wear per responses so far.

what do you built guys think?

the vertical striations on the 'bottom' of the cylinder sleeves is what is in question.

did you pull the pistons yet?

Nope, it's not normal wear. How are the exhaust valves? How's the compression on it?

Are those forged pistons? Did the block get honed for proper clearances?

i believe he just replcd HG's on a stock motor......the pistons are OE as far as i know
(he stated that his heads were lifting during heavy boost??????)
no warp to deck or heads
engine wasnt smoking, but he doesnt specify if was overheating

i am interested in the wear pattern if it is normal or not
so far: half the amt of members say normal
half the amt of members say its f******up

??????

information is purely for myself if i ever encounter this sort of scoring in any engine cyl sleeve

of the several stock motors i've torn apart, none had scoring like that....

even i have seen the criss cross ones b4.
