Default car has no power at all. please help

The door light in the dash would turn on but when I put the key in and turn it, nothing happens and the light goes out. I tried to jump start it and the same thing happens. I'm thinking that its the battery....but why would the car not star if I'm hooked into another battery from another car? I'm really lost at this point. Please help.

Have you tried just cleaning your battery terminals?

Do you have a volt meter that you could check the battery with?

Found the problem. I searched the ground wire and it led me to a dangling ground hanging next to the transmission....I hooked it back up and she started right up.
