IMO BC's arent nearly as aggressive as advertised and most people think.
What are you trying to figure out? What do you do with the car? What kind of powerband are to looking for? "now and down the road" |

Oem gaskets are the way to go IMO .. You could use the 1996-1998 EJ25D gaskets & help lower the compression a bit
If you can get the GSC cams they are a much better cam IMO ... |

Just seeing if im heading to the right direction with this build. ill be happy to make 300hp or more for now till i upgrade the trans an go with a bigger turbo down the road, reason for doing this swap is i just spend 6 grand on a rebuild that didnt last 1200 miles cause the shop FAILED. what would be the ratio going oem gasket? wouldnt the higer ratio cause more det?

OEM HG. Search for Cometic HG failures here. I bet you find at least as many as stock HG failures, and there are THOUSANDS more OEM HGs out there than Cometics.
You really do not want to lower compression with the gasket. get the compression back by having a machinist take a few ccs out of your heads by moving the sides out to ~99mm or with piston dish if you don't already have pistons. |
