Default The good, and the bad

The bad is my baby is now considered totaled and I'm going to have to restart fresh with a different car.

The good news is I can now start a different project, and I'll be selling all of my aftermarket stuff on the current car to the world of nasioc ( I'll keep everyone posted. ) Although yes it does completely suck that my pride and joy is done for, I'm glad to know that subaru built a car properly as I have always heard and that myself and the passenger were okay. If it were not for the tree we hit which is where the damage came from, we would have been rolling down into about a 2 story revine/drop. We're just thankful for all being able to walk away, and that the car wasn't more damaged than it is. Everything on this car is going to be for sale at some point soon if things with insurance go properly/buy back price is good enough that I can make profit off of it all. Here are pictures:

Instinctivly swerved to miss what looked like a lab/retriever and after correcting 3 times back and forth on an extremely slick road, the last one was at too high of a speed as I was keeping my foot in the throttle to save it along with counter steer ( that's how awd works as we all know ) and it was just too far gone. Slid completely sideways, hit the curb, went airborn and slammed into the tree. I did everything in my power to save it, but it looks like I should have just hit the damn dog.

everyone says this. I challenge you to NOT instinctively swerve when you see a lab run into the road.

glad to hear you're ok, OP.

Dog or deer I swerve if I can't brake. Cat, squirrel, racoon, possum etc. I'm going right over.

Good to hear everyone walked away. Did side airbags deploy?

I've crushed many a deer in my time driving. It is instinct for to swerve for something in the road for sure but living in Montana most your life you get used to deer being in the road.

If it's food or a pest, it's only getting the brakes.

If I could name it, I'll try to avoid it.

Honestly the car doesn't look all that bad but you said you hit the curb so there's probably some serious suspension damage yeah?

No airbags deployed fortunately. And on top of all that, the pictures really dont do the damage justice. The whole side of that car is off line including the roof being uneven as well. It is 'fixable' but I'll opt out of the salvage title everyday of the week. Thanks for all the regards everyone.

Cartman : Do you honestly try to find something to argue about in every thread? Jesus Christ.. I believe when he said "crushed" many a deer, he meant hit/killed, not that he literally crushed them, use your head.

haha, i know, right? i think this guy and jagr200 should have their own thread for this type of bs argueing

then we should allow 12sechatch to be the only other poster in the thread, as long as DENA can be the "thread mod"

i feel it would be a huge success of a train wreck

way to hijack a thread with your nonsense "cartman". I guess I let you back too early.

Glad you're okay Rider! Sorry about your car. Are you staying in the Subaru world or striking off in a different direction?

Im definitely staying subi. Either an urban grey 07 sti limited, or an 08+ sti hatch, won't know until I have found 'the one'.

I'll post parts pics as soon as I'm at that stage

sorry to hear that it was totaled out, and messed up...

hope everything works out for getting a new car...

when you are in the part-out, there are a few different things that i wanna check out... namely a possible part of the wiring(small and would be no cutting), and some interior parts that should be okay...
