Default give me your opinions on Colorado State University

Alright, so i have been considering different schools to transfer to in January and decided to look at CSU as well. if anyone goes there, what do you think about the place? how is the class environment along with the social environment? i want to actually learn and have some fun. i made the mistake of going to a christian college that does not allow ANYTHING, nobody shares my interests, and i want to get away from home.
reasons why i think i will like it there..
1. they have a good science program from what i hear.
2. its in a beautiful place
3. im a ski nut
4. i like cold weather.
5. and last but not least, there is a healthy subaru crowd which TN lacks.

any input is appreciated. thanks for helping me make my decision everyone!

I didn't GO to CSU, but I spent a summer in Fort Collins. I would love to go there.

Really, you will want to ask on AWDpirates.net. That's where the CO people hang out.

If your a ski nut... Utah is sick! They don't allow "stuff" on campus, but on game day I tailgate on campus and have never had a problem with the campus police because they turn the other cheek. But seriously, 25 min from the best snow in the lower 48

University of Utah is the best ski bum school in the world. That or the community college.

so do you go to The University of Utah? Colorado just seems like a better choice for me since flights to nashville wont cost me an arm and a leg to visit family. but having snow closer to me is tempting. i have just read good things about CSU which draws me to it.

My wife (cassieswrx) graduated from the Phd pharmacology/toxicology program at Utah. And don't forget they just had a Nobel prize winner a couple years ago. If you have any questions about the science program I am sure she could answer them or direct you to someone who can.

^ you have a good point. im just leaning towards CO a bit more since i am more familiar with it then Utah and those cheap flights to go home for holidays will be nice. The more i look into it, the more i like it. its a decent sized city so a job will be pretty easy to find, there are nearby rivers i can fish in, bike trails, and denver is only 60 miles away. it honestly looks just about perfect to me. i just want to be absolutely positive this is what i want, this is a huge move for me. But something i really want to do.

The view from the U of U is totally different, too. Lol. FoCo has hills west of it, and nothign east of it. The U is mountains covered with mountains.

Yeah I go to the U... I looked into FoCo for school but after visiting there (and then visitin the U) I was blown away by the differences... FoCo is cool cause it feels like a ski town and you can do outdoorsy stuff... But Utah takes the cake in SLC if your looking for an outdoorsy place that has a big enough city for a city feel and a small enough feel for a small town feeling. I can't imagine flights from SLC would be more seeing as how it's a major hub for delta and frontier... I'm originally from Milwaukee WI and my flights home aren't too bad. Freshman year I flew back for every break and I think my most expensive ticket was like 275.00. Anyways... That's just my two cents on it. If you have any questions about the U feel free to PM. Good luck on your decision.
