Default touch up paint for wheels >> hyperblack :|

i have some rota's in hyperblack. when i first got my wheels, i was paranoid about the wheel guy messing up my wheels mounting tires so i had the bright idea of taping the edge of the lip of the rims using painters blue tape. well i took it off anyway before i had the tires mounted , and the guy did a great job so it wasn't even needed. but the small portions of the silver in the hyperblack paint came off with the tape . but as the miles racked on those spots faded more and more. i hate it because from far away the lip of my wheels look bent, because the black under the silver is showing.

i know subydude/wheeldude doesn't have any touchup for hyperblack, so i'm just hoping someone out there has an idea for touchup? it doesn't have to be perfect, just enough to make it not some much of an eye sore. i know variations of hyperblack for other brands of wheels and even oem wheels are getting popular. i searched around but no one has found a solution.

rota haters keep comments to yourselves, unless you want to give me money for wheels .

wheels in question (i'll get some closeups of the spots later):

you can kind of see it at the front wheel near the top left. theres a dark spot and it makes the wheel look bent. these pics were taken a while ago so its a lot worst now.

I have gforces in hyperblack.

Literally paint is chipping off in chunks from my wheels, not the finishes fault tho.
Best solution is get it repaired and coated, the Hyperblack is laid on thick and if it chips off (for my exp) it will be impossible to match since its not so much a paint but a finish... If that helps you.

A good wheel guy can do it. I have a buddy that does wheel work for dealers and he said he can match my stock 08' STi wheels that are hyper black. I think he said it's a 2 or 3 stage process. Personally, if I didn't have a buddy that would fix mine for free, I'd just have them all resprayed black or some other color.

go to a Sherwin Williams type automotive store in your local area they can match and set you up with the system.

They can put it in aerosol cans or nail polish bottle applications depending on what your preference is. Or they can just sell you pint cans if you are gonna shoot it yourself with a gun.

depending on the intricacy of detail you are after tape off the areas and hit them up with 1500 grit after you are done. And be sure to prep the areas well too to ensure proper adhesion.

Nail polish. Sounds stupid, but give it a try.
