Default motor blew need help

Okay so the motor in my 99 rs blew up on me on sunday. Can anybody tell me what motors I can use for a replacement. What other subaru years and models can I use?

You have a EJ251 to be safe you can use any engine from a Non turbo Subaru (4 cylinder of course ) btwn the years 2000 and 2004.

be sure to check your timing belt gears, I just put a 01' Foz motor (auto) into an 01 Outback 5spd, THe cam and crank gear triggers are different from a 5spd to an auto. I just swap the gears now on any motor job.
