Default Where to buy a built short block???

Im shopping around for a shop the makes durrable and affordable built short blocks. I just blew mine up when a vacuum hose came off the nipple on the compressor side of the turbo. Waste gate didnt open and I over boosted. The block is cracked and seperated. I need a few months to gather some money for a new block.

Any suggestions?

I second the Rallispec block. Cheap build go Rallispec, all out go Cosworth.

Element tuning long block packages look good. Any one have any experience with them? I might get the long block instead of a short block.

Please keep the sugestions coming. I really appretiate it.

I would trust my money with (in not particular order, just that of i remember)

Innovative Tuning
Outfront Motorsports
Rallispec
MPS

talk to them all find out whats best for you, in the end I ended up buying all my parts and taking them to a local machine shop who deals with subarus.. I saved myself a good amount of coin.. for what most would pay for a shortblock with forged pistons. I have

rods, arp headstuds, covert oil pickup, all gaskets and a timing belt kit from gates.

Default Built Short Block

After researching short blocks I concluded that MPS was my best bet. Dom is doing the hybrid head mod too. They are good folks to work with on these projects.

My Block was bought right before Ron disapeared. Break in went great just waiting to get a tune. Sean knows all his secrets and builds a mean block. Raw was Huge in the community and Shawn is going above and beyond helping people who got F ed by Ron. If you were thinking of getting some Raw work done, contact Shawn, he still has acsess to the same machine shop so quality will be top notch.

I've got 3-4 months before I get one. I'll have to look him up in the mean time when he gets his site up.

As for the other recomendations, thank you. I've been checking into them. I guess it boils down to best bang for my buck 8). Either way they all seem pretty good. I just to prepare for possible head work as well. That's why I'm saving plenty of money before I buy.
