Default GSC Stage 2 cams, upgraded springs with TI retainers, stock STI valves?

I'm looking at possibly going with GSC stage 2 cams with upgraded single valve springs and ti retainers on a stock sti valve and head. Does anyone see problems using this combo? I realize I won't be getting the full potential without a port and polish, but for now this seems the most logical, and affordable option for me.

Car has a GT35r with all supporting mods. Looking at upping redline to 8k, and getting my bottom end rebuilt by Outfront Motorsports with Manley rods, CP Pistons, and ACL Bearings. All oiling upgrades (larger oil pump etc) will be made during the build.

Suggestions and comments appreciated.

I have GSC S2 with oem STI valves and PnP heads.

I tried to revved it to 8000 rpm 2 years ago, it didn't go to 8000, I had a misfire before 8k but I guess once the misfire problem is fixed it can rev to 8k with that combo.

I wish I had the money back then to buy the valves when my engine was rebuilt

Problem I researched is with dual springs stock sti valves are prone to failure due to increased spring pressures. If I can find a shop to install new valves in Alaska I will most likely upgrade valves, springs, and retainers.

Berdugo, are you using upgraded springs?

I think I'm going stage 2 cams and single springs. Hopefully that's enough for the car.
