My 2002 WRX decided to spin a bearing at 155k miles. Time to give her a stonger hybrid heart. 2.5 STi block mated to the 2.0L WRX heads.

Thanks for the feedback on the wheels guys. I'm actually taking Jared's advice and I'm going to hold off for now until I do my 6 speed swap and get that taken care of.

Sorry to hear about your loss Poe! Let me know if you have any questions about your hybrid build, I just completed mine and I love it.

So, since the Kanc is called off due to weather and i assume everyone who was going already cleared their schedule for that day, should we all get together and do something local Saturday morning/afternoon?

Did you just mate the 2.5 block with the 2.0 heads straight up or did you have the head chambers bored to match the 2.5 walls?

See above. ASF Machine is the place to have your heads deschrouded. They did a fantastic job on mine. I honestly would not run stock 2.0 heads on a 2.5 block with thicker HGs. I know people do it, but why limit potential timing and therefore power due to knock/detonation? Do it right the first time.

Leakdown. Ringland failure. Who knows how long it's been bad for. Compression is 150psi across all 4. Leak down is 5-7% on all cylinders except 2...2 is 20%.

I want to get my heads done. I agree, it's the only way. Does ASF need the block to determine how much to cut or is it preset in a program? How long did they take and how much? Do you have any before/after pictures?
