Thats what it looked like happened. Looked like he was hard on the brakes with the tires locked up as he came into the corner. Scary as hell for sure. Glad to hear he's ok. Atleast its on tape though! Id be pissed if i wrecked my car like that an no in caught it on film!

Rohin Ghai Here's the story - "Hey everyone.

Iím the idiot that crashed the FR-S. Not really sure where to begin, so Iíll start with how it happened.

I was on my way to lunch with a coworker. Thereís a right turn Iíve taken a million times over the past 4 years thatís very wide and has huge visibility, and I would sometimes get on the gas a little in my B16-swapped CRX through the turn. I never went over the speed limit, and I only did it if there was absolutely no one else around. Being a FWD, the front tires would break free a little and it would make the turn a bit more fun. Well, before leaving work I decided it would be a good idea to turn off the traction control and try something similar in the FR-S. That was my first mistake. I entered the turn at about 20mph, and halfway through it I got on the gas and I honestly canít remember exactly what happened after that. I remember being extremely surprised and then all of a sudden I was careening for a telephone pole, and then bam. I donít even think I hit the brakes. I mustíve hit the clutch pedal at some point because the car was still running when I stopped. Both airbags deployed. My passenger said he didnít even touch the airbag, I grazed it a little bit and it felt like I got hit in the face with a soft pillow. I mustíve been going 15-20mph at the impact. I couldnít believe how much the car just crumpled. I just looked at it and sat on the ground. I canít even describe to you the feeling of seeing it like that. I just wanted to cry.

Iím 24 years old, been driving since 16, and this is my first accident/ticket. I was ticketed for ďfailure to maintain reasonable controlĒ, which honestly was extremely generous given the circumstances. I feel like the worldís biggest idiot. I feel like Iíve shamed myself and done a huge disservice to the community. Sorry just doesnít say enough. I swore I wouldnít be one of those guys everyone was saying would do something stupid and wreck the car and drive up the insurance rates. Now Iím not only that guy, but it seems Iím the _first_ guy. Not exactly the best way to make an impression. I want you guys to know that I truly feel awful about the whole thing. I am truly sorry for letting my fellow FR-S owners down, and through making a complete ass out of myself, I feel Iíve learned a valuable lesson, albeit a hard one. I know some of you (a lot of you) will hate me, call me an idiot, tell me I shouldnít have even tried anything like that on a public road, etc. And I agree with you 100%. I made a stupid, stupid, irresponsible choice, and now Iím paying for it. I donít think any of you can hate me more than I hate myself.

I hope I can stand as an example of what can happen even at relatively low speeds when youíre being stupid. Please for the love of god donít be me. Drive safe, keep traction control on on public roads, and donít try to be Ken Block. Unless you are Ken Block, in which case, keep being awesome."

You're implying that you show up 100% of the time, which is unpossible. Thus your calculated probability has a rudimentary flaw.

Question for you guys. What size tire would you run on a 17x9 wheel with +42 offset at stock STi ride height? I was thinking either a 235/40 or 245/40, but I'm not sure. I definitely don't want stretched tires, I prefer a meatier look (pun intended). Thoughts?

After months of considering, decided to pick up a 2012 WRX for a daily- any suggestions on getting rid of these chrome shiny things with lightbulbs in them?

Won't make it out tonight probably next week though.

The headlights? I have a set of 2011 headlights with 11K miles on them that I'd trade for 2012s.. I replaced them with OEM HIDs so they're just sitting in my basement and I'd only need a set for if I ever traded the car in - it would be going back to stock.

You're right on the available tires. But you don't want to 235 on a 9 inch rim. That's gonna stretch a little bit. Your best bet is to run 235 on a 17x8-8.5 or 245 on 18x9 but that's kinda pushing it on a wrx.

What about a 245/40 on the 17x9?

Keith - did you swap hubs or are you still on 5x100? You could throw on one of my 2011 wheels with the 235's to see if you like the fitment. I think the stock wheel is 17x9.
