Default code p0438

I have check engine light on, and the scan tool is showin me p0438 code fan performance, has any1 got the issue, and I also see the temp risen.

None of the Subaru manuals I have list P0438 as a defined code. Try a different scan tool.

Unless you kicked the numbers. They do define P0483 Fan Rationality Check. Basically it means that one or both of the fans aren't turning as expected. Let the car idle. Check the coolant temperature by the readout from the ECU (not the gauge on the dash). By the time the coolant temp hits 212F, both fans should be turning at full speed.
