Is the Td06 /60-1 technically the same as a forced performance red? or is there more differences, as i know the red uses a garret 60-1 wheel ,
thanks

I'm curious to see how these have held up since this thread started. I need a new turbo, and I can't see myself affording a dom 2.5xt-r anytime soon.

Ive herd good things about these turbos holding pretty well. BUT, recently a customer brought in his 06 Legacy Spec B with the 16g Version installed complaining of smoke and noise. The turbo let go do due oil debris going through the thrust bearings and clogging the oil passage.

Edited; took the turbo apart and found the cause.

I have the TD06H 60-1 and I am absolutely impressed by it.

My car makes 483awhp at 21psi on E85.
Cant wait to turn it up to 30psi and hopefully get close to 580ish awhp

Not bad, especially because the test gear for the Sti should be 4th, out of 6 and for the WRX 3rd out of 5.
So in 4th, you probably see 21 by 37-3800 RPM. Now with you, is that pump gas, or also E85?

I love how people automatically bash turbos that are sold on ebay....are you aware that all the overpriced parts you buy from venders on here are on ebay for 10% cheaper, no tax, and free shipping. People said my racer x fmic was garbage ebay stuff too until I hit the track. That company makes quality turbos and sells em cheaper than the US companies. Just admit it, better hope Borgwarner or Kinugawa dont start making similar bolt turbos like Blouch or FP or they will take over the market

Installed a Kinugawa td05 20g chra in our old '95 L sedan that my son sold to his friend, his blew and he didn't stop driving it. He's short on funds so I helped him out. Bearing housing was fried, oil seal area was shroomed out from the turbine wheel grinding away at it. Couldn't rebuild it, so I bought an assembled Kinugawa chra for $350 and reused the turbine housing, compressor housing, oil lines, etc. Car has an EJ257 block w/ mahle pistons, EJ25D heads, hydra 2.12 rev 6, 38mm EWG. Its holding up well since January and the kid is always on it, boost controller is set at 23 psi. I've used several Kinugawa/Kando products from authentic boosting on ebay and I've had great luck with them.

Thanks for the review. I'm contemplating buying one of the td05 turbos from them.

I run the td06sl2 60-1, I put up a virtual dyno run to show spool. Tune is low timing, super safe at 18 psi. Weight is also very light, should be 100+ lbs more.
You can read the debate on td06sl2 vs td06H4 11 blade. Spool or high end power.

Is this the 2.4" or 3" inlet? And overall, how do you like the spool and top-end? I'm torn between this and the td06h 20g...

That is encouraging. I am scratching together the funds to rebuild my shortblock with forged pistons and rods. Once this is done I am hoping to install the 3 in. inlet version of this turbo along with the 8 cm^2 turbine housing and use the 38mm Tial I already have on the car.

To folks running E85 with this turbo on an EJ257, what size injectors are you using? I have DW850s now so I could run E85 with the VF39 I had on the car, but I am thinking of upgrading to 1000 cc topfeeds.

I have id1000cc on my car with a 300lph pump and they are maxed out at 23psi tapering to 19psi at redline on e85 at stock fuel pressure. So i think your 850cc will not get you were you want with e85. I am going to do a dw hardwire kit for my pump to bring down the idc but i could also bump fuel pressure with a aftermarket regulator if the hardwire doesnt get me were i want to be.
