Default Good Base Motor for a Build

so within the next couple months i will be building a weekend "fun" car. Ive been looking around to see other peoples builds of many different cars and motors not just subaru. Im thinkin i wanna be somewhere in the 400whp(max) range, while also keeping the weight down, with supporting suspension mods. I also am not sitting on a trust fund so not looking to break the bank, but i wont skimp out on quality parts to save some coin. i would like it to be rwd or awd and turboed. Any suggestions of what car/motor setup i should go with. im open to all suggestions

What is considered to break your bank? Also, as always stated what is "fun" for you? (autox, track, drag, back country...). Do you have anything or will you be starting from scratch?

hmmm shouldve clarified. well first im not trying to finish the build quickly, more like a weekend build so the budget is not really set, but im figuring somewhere in the 10-15k but i dunno. i also like road racing but im not super serious about it so i guess i would fall into the back country, windy road, category, with maybe 2 track days a year. im starting from absolulety nothing so the build car has yet to be decided, i would also like to build once and have a strong reliable car
