Thumbs down New Link software -BITES!!

So I figure they've got their act together........but NOOOO!!!

I have three versions of the PCLink software and the only one *somewhat* reliable is the pre-May22 release!!

This new version has changed my MAP limit to 5, then to 182. I type in 230, STORE, then it changes it to 181.....***??!!?!?! It also changed the 1000-1500rpm fuel value from 97 to 10.........twice!!!! It took forever to find out why the stupid thing wouldn't idle properly

BE AWARE!!!

Thats funny, all of my problems stopped after the 6/24 piece of software was released. However, I had to reload, redownload and restore before my problem went away. Now I can boost as high as I want and it never MAP limits me.

My idle still sucks though - I get a little bit of a "rock" at idle which is a bit disconcerting. I was thinking it might be the clamp setting being too high.

- all my problems are gone with the new release...I think you just installed the wrong version with all those setup files you have

JaMa - My clamp is set to 50...and idle holds better then ever now. It could also be because of your voltage. I noticed that when I put the fuel WAY down on idle (in an attempt to try to get a lean idle), and the fans came on, idle just went to hell. I bumped up the voltage correction to about 20 or so and that helped.

The new version is just as flaky as the last for me. Keeps sticking my ignition values in the fuel table for random cells.

.....ahhh...good......thought I was going nutz there for a second. You're right JenisonWRX, I do have way to many setup files

It sure would be nice if we had an "Aftermarket ECU Forum" or "Link Users Forum".....

I agree we need a aftermarket ecu forum. Everytime I find something new or have a question about the Link I want to post in both aftermarket and factory forced Induction, but dont want to double post.

THAT'S IT!!!! I'M TIRED OF PH**KING WITH THIS CRAP!!! Just came back from the track. What an embarassment! Somehow out of the blue, I now have a crazy fuel cut at 15psi......

It wasn't until I did a RELOAD, and went back to the old map and software that I got rid of it. I loaded old maps, tried everything, set my map limit to 230, 255, anything......and nothing worked.

So......I'm giving this crud-a$$ pile 'o junk one more chance.....then I'm ditching it for a freakin' unichp -AGAIN

Just got back from the after-race scene and spanked an S2000 really really........really rediculously badly so that makes me feel a bit better.

Hey I offered you guys webspace to host all your maps, but no one responded. If you need help on tuning, why not use a "community." Me hosting the maps for you guys would have been a good start in the right direction

So I don't get the complaints confused, are you speaking of version C4-12062 as giving you problems? I've just got my link in and I'm setting it up tonight, so I'm wondering what version to go with...

I'm using C4 -YES It works "okay" with a few minor issues. You might want to start with the latest version. For some reason every version I've tried after C4 just hoses my car BIG TIME!!!

Now I'm even more confused... C4-12062 IS the latest version. The one I just downloaded a few days ago. I'm talking the version uploaded to the link website on the 24th June 2002. One more time for the record ScoobieSnaX... this works for you or not? What issues are you having?

I called LinkUSA and they mentioned that I did not have the newest board software (bios) on my Link. They said the latest version addresses problems with interferance. They also said it would be $125 to flash me to the newest version. I was thinking it should be free to fix problems in the bios but that's just me

Hmmm. I'm using version C4 yes. I have another one ("C5"---or something) which hosed everything.

It would make sense to think that C5 is newer than C4 huh?

Ok.. I see why I was getting confused. They may have released C5 and rolled back or something, but the version on their site now is C4 as I mentioned above.

Re-read my post above as I have added some info...
