Default Impreza EJ18 with Ej22 Pistons, its possible?

Hello guys, i have with me one set of EJ22 pistons and rings STD Brand New, and i want to know, if its possible to use the EJ18 block with the EJ22 Pistons, just resleeving with new size? , this combination will be perfect if its possible because i can use our national fuel (etanol) with the hight compression ratio that will result for this change, so, with new sleeves , will be possible use the EJ22 pistons on my EJ18 block? , tks

ps: Sry for my bad english

DO you have access to a used 2.2 engine? What you are asking should be possible, but the cost to do the machine work + gaskets would be way more than what you should be able to find a used 2.2 for.

unfortonely i am from Brazil, in here the subaru parts are to expencive , a used 2.2 engine its costing like U$2.600~U$3000, the service to do the resleave on my EJ18 will cost U$400~U$450 , in that case here in Brazil, its much more cheap to do the machine work + gaskets, tks for help.

For 400-500 I'm sure you can find 2.2 block halves shipped to Brasil...

You only need the cylinder block not a complete shortblock. Ask around at USMB aswell... Should be possible to find in the States!
