Default Anyone installed the Subaru 4EAT oil cooler in their Legacy?

I'll be doing towing soon with my OB and want to install the OEM 4EAT tranny oil cooler unit (that comes stock on Foresters) on my OB. Has anyone installed this cooler and can give install tips? How effective is it? Thanks all,

Mako

Default hmm

Ciper,

I'm not sure, though I'm glad you asked, maybe someone here knows. I saw the kit that Teague sells--does it have everything you need? Anybody know?

Thanks,

Mako

Hey Peaty, will this work on a 97 GT? Do you have part numbers?

Yeah, that image has the peice I was talking about.

It should work for any subaru, no matter the model. Problem I could see is that the oil filter might be really low. Anyone who installed this on a legacy/imprezza have comments?

Edit: Realize that I use the 90 honda CRX filter from purolator that is about TWICE the size of the oem unit so it may not stick out as far as you would think.

Here is another reason FRAM SUCKS. For all the different cars that use the same thread pattern and gasket size as the subaru there should be two different size filters. One that is about 3-4 inches tall (oem subaru part) and one that is about 6 inches tall (the 90 crx among other vehicles). Fram cheats by only making one filter to go on all of these, its not as big as the larger one but not as small as the small one.

The part number for the good purolator one is 24458 if anyone cares.
