Post South Florida Subaru Car Club?

Would any of the Subaru Owners in the SOuth Florida area beinterested in starting up a Subaru Only car club? Mainly for attending local area car shows (Import Showoff, Hot Import Nights, Lowrider, etc.) and occasionally cruise nights (how many of you hang out at the Redline Hangout in PPines on Sats?) en masse to represent the Subaru Marque. It's lonely being the only Subaru at the show =o(. Anyone?

I agree with Sanders. I'm always driving around Florida, so that would be cool meeting up.

Right...but us Miami people live on the dark side of the moon and don't always have the time to get everywhere. That's probably why I've got almost 14k on the odometer in only 4 months of ownership. I don't think its a bad idea at all. NickSTI and Wedge have told me about a meet in Westchester or Kendall on Thursdays that's pretty frequent, so there may be a chance for something.

By the way...do you own that sweet Forester that's lowered with cool wheels that I saw at the Firestone near Hiatus on Pines. I saw you the other evening when I went to pick up my Chinese takeout at Dragon Gate. Nice ride.

I think I have the only lowered Forester in Pembroke Pines, so I'd have to say yes. (Mine is the white over grey Forester with the blue painted brakes. Thanks BTW, I like it too. You can see everything I've done if you are interested on my website: www.foresterperformance.fanspace.com

I wouldn't at all be opposed to starting up a "SoFla Chapter" of the i-club. Just so's us subie people get together and show those darned Civics a thing or two. Matt, Saturdays at the Publix on Pines and Flamingo (yeah, the Cemetary Villiage one) after 10pm or so, the lot is packed with import cars. They call it the "Redline Hangout." It would be great for a bunch of us Subies to show up there and "represent."
FYI, my wife and I will be two cars / members if this thing gets going, she drives a blue '00 RS Sedan. (Maybe you've seen that around PP? I sure haven't seen your red one)

So. Whaddayasay?

sounds like a cool idea. but it seems even tho there are so many miami members on the board, it is rare to see more than two subies in any given day. i will try to make it out every once in a while.

Hi Forester!
I think that would be super idea! I live around Fort Lauderdale and there is about 4 Imprezas around my area that I seen. There was two silver coupe/sedan RS, one blue RS coupe, and one black RS coupe. I just purchase my blue RS not too long ago. I decided to bring it to TowerShop (Auto hangout place "American and Japanese Cars"). I got a few stare during the event. It feel great to own a piece of history~ This car is the first original look of the WRC car...~ Some people know the history behind this great ride but others just don't know what it is at all. Anyway, I did feel a bit disappointed at Towershop because some people question me about my ride whether if it is the turbo version or not. Come on, I brought the car for the appearance and not for the turbo. Just to think that after this year is over.. the original appearance no longer be able to purchase. Unless someone is willing to sell a piece of the Rally car history~ Anyway, enough blabbering.

Forester, it would be super to get Subaru owner (South FL) to get together indeed. I been to Redline once right after Towershop. There was three civics and a prelude there. Anyway, I would love to make some new friends and trade wisdom of our vehicle~ -AliasAngel

Cool...Publix out west, eh?

I did see a silver coupe, probably a 2000 or 2001 near 174ave and Pines. Got a big wave and smile, but I haven't seen your cars around yet.

I usually get home around 7pm---thanks to traffic, so you may see me around. I work off of Commercial and NW31 street in the building near the Bellsouth building. My boss says he's seen a few RSs in the area, but I usually see the same silver coupe and the guy never waves.

How about a local get together this weekend? I'm going to be around and don't have plans to go out of town.

What's best, Friday or Saturday?

Either one is okay. Lets make it Friday at Tower Shops. My wife and I took the day off so we'll try to be there pretty early and get a good spot. Hope to see a whole bunch of Subies there. Look for me. I'll be the fat guy with the goatee and buzzcut next to the SCHWEET White Forester! (My wife's Blue Impreza Sedan should be there too.)

Where we are talking about is Tower Shoppes, a shoping center in Davie, Florida (ft. Lauderdale)

Every Friday night a local hot rod club hosts a Friday night cruise in the parking lot of this VERY LARGE shopping center. 150-200 cars in the "show" section every week. At least that in "spectators" just there to check out the cars. And that only takes up about 1/6 of the available parking lot space.

To get there just take I-595 to University Drive. Head South about two blocks. You'll see the commotion to the East (left heading South). I-595 goes East/West across the middle of Broward County. Cars start showing up about 4:30 or 5:00 and the "show" goes on until about 10:00 or so every Friday. Like I said earlier, there is always a DJ playing "oldies", and there are even vendors selling car and toy collectables as well as car parts (usually V8 crap! =o) )

Hope to see you there. I will probably go about 5:00. If everything goes well, I should have an "i-club" banner that I plan to make tomorrow at work, so I should be easy to spot.

Hi guys! I would like to join you guys this Friday (April 13th "Good Friday") at Tower Shop. I hope that is cool with you all. I'm a newbie to the Scooby scene and would love to learn something from each other about our Subaru. I Got my Impreza for about a month now and love it to death. I will becoming with my brother (he drives a Silver Civic) but he loves Impreza a lot too! Infact, he is doing his best to help me hookup my Impreza~

I drive a Blue Impreza RS sedan with PIAA headlights. My fiancee would be coming with me as well (I think).

I hope it is okay for my brother and I to join all of you?

Hey (matt in fl)!! I think I saw your car sometime 2 weeks ago March 31th (Saturday 4:00pm-4:30pm) or so... I saw a Sedona Red RS coupe parked somewhere around Sunrise and University. Where you there around that time?

Cheers to all Subaru of South FL,
AliasAngel

P.S. Appearances: Asian. Try to be there at around: 8:30pm or 8:45pm. Hold a few spot for us subies okay?

Cool

More than likely it was me.

I have heard from one of my employees that they've seen a young woman driving around in a red RS coupe too. I did see one for sale at Eddie Accardi a while back---it was a used 2000. Wonder if that's it?

Can't wait until tomorrow. I'll be there around 7:30 or 8pm. Maybe earlier, but work has been a bear this week.

Hey Mat in Fl, Yea!! I too saw a red one at Eddie's dealership. Infact, before they had a red one... they had a coupe blue RS and a coupe black RS. That was around the time the end of Jan or beginning of Feb this year.

Also, I hear from one of the guy in sale said that there is a red RS at the service place because the spoiler has been rip off by someone around the area. Sick people!

Say,.. this question is for all of you in this Forum. "Which Subaru dealership is MOST RELIABLE in the SERVICE DEPARTMENT?" I can tell you this much that I am having unfair service from: Delay Mitsubishi and Subaru. They didn't get my car fix (yes, it is a new car) and the parts are so late. The parts department is totally unorganized. My corner light has been bang up and crack by these A** H#$@! Oh, they even lost my front windshield sun cover which is located in the back of my car. Of course they would denial losing them. Oh well... I purchase my scooby there but I will most definitely get service done else where instead.

Say, does anyone know if Eddie Accodi service department in Pompano is any good??

I will be coming to Tower shop at around 8:00pm-ish. Hope to see a pack of Scoobies there~

Thanks for the answer in advance!

Hi NickSTi! How are you! Thanks for the 411. So you recommend Lehman right? I would check them out if the one in Pompano is bad. Say, you got a black one... that's great! I would very much like to see your black RS. Do you think you will be able to come tonight at Towershop? The more scooby the merrier you know?! Living in Miami I see... well, it would probably 25 minutes drive for you right? I am located in Fort Lauderdale somewhere. I had been to REDLINE too much that is about 30miles drive for me. Too freakin far... Anyway, Hope you can come tonight at around 8:00ish~ -AliasAngel (Blue RS sedan with PIAA headlight).

YEP! I am going. I am gonna try to park near where the Miata club parks every week. (North side of the "Show" area.) Look for the white Forester and the Blue Ridge Pearl RS (wife's comming too!) and the big i-club logo poster. SHould be easy to spot.

Sorry you can't make it STI, but maybe we can meet up next week or another time.

Angel & Matt... and ANYBODY ELSE out there with a Scooby in SoFL, hope to see you soon.
