Question Opinon on this compressor wheel

My buddy is helping me fix a coolant leak on my GT28 turbo and we find the compressor wheel and inlet looking like this...

Here's a pic of the exhaust side

The car has been driving fine and the power delivery very smooth before taking out the turbo to fix the leak, a couple of crush washers.

Should I look into getting this turbo rebuilt? My buddy thinks there is shaft play but I just felt a little bit of back and forth movement and no up and down play. I'll let him chime in.

Thanks!

It looks like there are scrapes on that inlet. Which means the Wheel is hitting the Housing. Thats not good!

Weigh the options of purchasing a new turbo or rebuilding that one....their might be more damage than you can see.
There is no question that you need a new wheel so it's all up to you....

pull off the housing and see how it looks in there, may just need a new wheel which can be had for like 100, and a new balance which is like 100

That's what I thought. I'll have the turbo get looked at a turbo shop and see what can be done. According to the PO of my car, it's not a standard GT28 turbo, it's a completely custom piece
