Default FYI- Anyone that wants to do a grounding mod; go here.

http://www.knukonceptz.com/

I got-

2ft of 4 gauge.

15ft of 8 gauge.

Distribution block(One 4g in, Four 8g out).

1, 4g ring terminal.

4, 8g ring terminals.

All four $17 bucks plus $5 shipping.

I couple of vendors are trying to sell the kits for $90+. Vivid is selling a HKS kit for $139.

Just wanted to let anyone interested know.

I did my own ground mod.

I think one important spot missing on these is to run a ground wire from directly under the coil to the frame. If anything this would be the highest source of interferance.

I also ran one ground from the transmission/engine loop on the passenger side (right near the IAC) to the passenger side frame ground for the ABS.

I used a flat braided ground strap taken from a Network Applicance Filer Disk Shelf. Cost 0$

Basiclly, it reduces eletrical noise in the cars system. The factory grounds wires are not up to par(big surprise). So if the system has less noise the ECU can "hear" better. I smooths out the engine. It is really big in Japan. A bunch of the WRX guys did the mod and got rid of a hesitation they had between 3-5k rpms. I was going to do this a few months ago but I just cleaned the factory ground points instead. I have read more about it and now want to try for myself. It is so cheap it doesn't really matter if it works or not.

Do a search for "grounding mod", there is a ton of threads about it.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the link. I'm either too lazy or scared to go into the local audio shops for the supplies. Those ICE people scare me!

Did you already your order in a safe and timely manner? Installed yet? Please let us have a gander when you're done.

May the B4 be with you!

<edit> Oh yeah. It's too bad that site doesn't work well with Mozilla 1.0. Damn you, Microsoft!!!

Cool

Wow.. I finally got around to doing this. I expected improvements(mild) in performance, but I didn't expect my engine to shut the hell up. It is actually QUIET now! That is the BIGGEST noticable difference now.

I used Stinger blue HPM 8ga wire to complement the rest of my car stereo wiring. Blue for ground, silver/clear for power. A nice theme throughout the entire car.
