Default Legacy 3.6R Exhaust

Does anyone know if the exhaust on the 2010/2011 3.6R is the same as the 2010/2011 GT from the mid pipe back?

No replies? I just bought a 3.6R and want to hear that power rumble thru some nice exhaust, but there isn't much out there. Any ideas?

I hear you man.
I traded my 2010 WRX for a 2010 LGT limited.
THe WRX had the SPT exhaust so I am thinking to try to put it on the Legacy.
I measured and it seems it will fit just fine from the Catalitic converter to the Y axle with the mufflers.
What are your options so far?

The WRX to LGT exhaust swap may be OK, because they're both 4cyl cars.

My understanding is that the 6cyl cars have a dual exhaust back to the middle of the car somewhere, then come together, then split again after the rear axle to the dual mufflers. I believe the axle-back exhausts (so basically just the mufflers) should be compatible.

Don't expect the LGT mufflers to make your H6 sound like a turbo H4, though.

I'm not really looking to get the turbo sound, but just a little rumble out of it. I've seen some youtube video clips of the Invidia Q300 and it sounds really nice. Also, from what I've seen, it looks like the LGT mufflers are a direct fit. Just hate to spend the money and not get a change in sound.

Just found out that the LGT and the H-6 use the exact same part number mufflers.

look at some youtube videos of exhaust systems on an H6. I hear they start sounding like Porsche's when the exhaust opens up.

Yep, very true ... I used to have an SVX which I purchased the Stebro Performance exhaust for. It sounded like a mix between a Porsche and a Ferrari Testarosa!!...

OP, be prepared to get custom work done... I haven't seen any exhaust "kits" for any of the newer H-6 Legacy's... It can get pricey... To start it out I would just say get some Borla / Magnaflow mufflers welded inplace of the stockers... That would probably be the easiest... If you get it done by a very skilled person it should look great too

I put some Perrin cans on my Legacy yesterday. I took pics and will do a scoobymods page but right now I'm away from home. Did a few quick vids:

I'm starting to like the sound. My son and I drove about 4 hours today on an overnight road trip. It's not loud but you can hear them. When you step on it it makes a nice sound. This is strictly an axle back is all.
